it is so great to be back at boston university! i feel so much more at home here than i ever do in memphis. the second i walk down comm ave i feel like i am in my element. i feel bad when i tell my mom these things because it is not like she did not provide a lovely home and a place for me to grow up in. but i get that warm fuzzy feeling when i land in boston. i cannot stop smiling since i have been here. i think it will be a good year. i know i made the right choice coming here.

So I have been in London for the past 6 weeks and I have learned some great lessons that I would like to share so that I will also not forget them myself

9. cctv is literally EVERYWHERE

11. the shittiest of nights lead to the greatest of stories

so in between the events of losing my american cell phone, having my credit card number stolen, killing my knee slowly, dancing on various poles, and meeting the greatest strangers in the world, i think i have begun to find myself- and i like it.

I am an idiot haha.

After getting 8 hours of sleep over 3 days to complete a presentation, study for test, and write 2 research papers, I have come to the conclusion that procrastination is not worth the pain.

You think I would have learned this by now, but up until this point procrastination has never failed me. This week, it failed miserably. One professor told me that college is there to make you realize to center yourself from yourself and that there is a world out there on a whole different schedule that you must adapt to. Learned that lesson the hard way. I am just glad that I am done .

Kids: learn your lesson now when the grades don't matter as much :D

i am sick and slightly delusional from having a fever right now. it is almost like being high... i am intrigued by this experience

today was a better day but my friend told my sorority. so now it will be awkward. it will be hard to move on when everyone is accidentally making it harder. one day at a time <3

I wrote a letter to her that I will never be able to send. She seemed invincible like she could defeat anything. So, I never sent the letter always leaving it to tomorrow. I have been reading it over and over again not knowing what to do with it. So many memories and issues are coming to the surface and I am truly afraid that I will not be able to deal with. I contemplated cutting myself again. I have not cut myself since sophomore year and I am so afraid that I am not strong enough to avoid it. I drank everyday for a few months after my grandmother died- I am afraid that I am not strong enough to avoid that here. I quit smoking but it seems to be the only way to deter myself from self harm. I need strength that I don't think I will ever have. I need the strength from friends that are too far away to hug or from a God that I do not know that I believe in any more. She was one of the few teachers that actually believed in me. Every time I think of France, crepes, peas, Le Petit Price, LSU, and the eiffel tower I will think of her. She was such a large part of my life and I did not even realize it. She will always be in my heart because she sincerely saw with hers. <3

i ended up with a 3.2 for the semester!! for not working really that is not too bad :D

So I am at home now and I kind of want to go back to Boston. It has been so much seeing everyone and I love all my friends I just really don't like Memphis. At least, I do not like the side of Memphis that involves upper middle class white people that are either my family or family friends. I just feel like that part of Memphis leaves this stale plastic taste in my mouth. Everything in that world is a facade. Your smile, your happiness, how your family is doing, everything. It feels just like on giant act. After spending a few months with an entire population that is so straight forward and honest, I almost feel like the breath of fresh air that I felt was sucked from my lungs and now I am suffocating. I have come the realization that I can probably never live here in Memphis unless I find some sort of niche as amazing as the friends that I have now that would be a break from the fake world of cotton carnival and conservative bankers who golf for fun. So anyway, that is my little rant.

i feel as if i should update. sobriety woke me up and the dining hall does not open until 9. so this is how i am biding my time.

i do not really know what to say. i love college and pretty much all that has to do with it. i am kicking ass in all my classes. my grades are better now than they were in high school. i am starting to get close to people beyond the initial awkward greetings. i love my roommate. i am just excited about life in general. everything seems to have fallen into place. it is almost too good to be true some days. not days when i have my 9 am class. but other days yes. i do miss people from back home every once in a while. my hope is that my friends are enjoying college and life as much as i am. i hope that everyone is truly happy. that would be the only reason why our separation would be worthwhile.

i cannot wait until thanksigiving to hear stories and give people hugs. i think some people really need hugs and it makes me sad some days that i cannot give them out. i miss giving out hugs to people. i kind of miss hugs in general. i hug people here but they are not nearly as good as the ones from my best friends. in time BU hugs will probably get better. hugs from friends who have known me for years feel differently. i think you can feel the love radiating off.

college has made me so excited for the future. i cannot wait to see what else life will bring. love you guys and peace out :D

i learned today that you can never underestimate a good cry. today i started to cry in a movie which led to me crying about college and people leaving which then somehow led to me crying about my grandmother who died almost a year ago. just exposing every emotion to the outside world, if only through tears, was such a relieving experience. i will miss everyone so much but after tonight i know i will be able to make it. if i can wipe away the tears, take a deep breath, and smile tonight- i know i can do it any other night.

just got back from fairhope- bonded and had a good time!
birthday tomorrow- chocolate and partying

after that getting ready for college for the rest of the summer and bugging sms kids

life is good :D

mc had another dumb moment. but i do not regret those kind of moments happening. i just acknowledge the fact that it was stupid. and then i laugh.
